Some months ago we had reviewed their “Promo 2001” and we had the confidence that Axenstar could step forward and sign to a label. Now, I have in front of me their debut album from SPV recs.
AXEL RUDI PELL „Knights Live”
Guitarist Axel Rudi Pell is a German guitar legend who should see more acclaim than he currently receives. Presently, with 14 CDs (including KNIGHTS LIVE) under his belt and his past work with Germany's Steeler, he deserves emplacement among numerous six-string heroes including Yngwie Malmsteen, Michael Schenker (Scorpions, UFO, MSG) and countless others.
AUTOPSY „Severed Survival”
After recording in 1987 together with Chuck Schuldiner, Death's debutant cd, “Scream Bloody Gore”, Chris Reifert-singer, drummer- was kicked out of the band (it happened to nearly all of the future Death's musicians). He decided that he wasn't gonna waste time, and later in the year he formed Autopsy- a band, which very fast became one of the number one bands on the death metal scene.
AURORA K „11th Hour”
Aurora K is a melodic hard rock band from Helsinki Finland that was formed in 1999. The band is fronted by a female lead singer that has very soothing voice.
AUDIOSLAVE „s/t”
I was really devastated when I realized that I would never experience another Soundgarden album. But what do we have here? A great substitute! Chris Cornell (Soundgarden's vocalist) joined forces with the remaining members of what used to be Rage Against the Machine.

Croats surprised me!!! You remember some doom metal bands yet, which played so heavily and slowly that they sound of guitars and growling crushed you like roller, and additional beautiful, angelic voice inflicted that your soul had risen over crush flash? Just ASHES YOU LEAVE play it!!! Heavy, slowly the damped of guitar. Mighty growling as well as miraculous angelic, feminine singing.
ARWEN „Memories Of A Dream”
By the time you can see their cover you do not me to tell you their music style! Yes, power metal with progressive moments, many keyboards, a singer who tries to sound like Fabio Lione… I don't like this release because it is tiring for my ears. If you liked Athena's debut album then you should listen to Arwen.
ARTROSIS „Melange”
A Polish band that has evolved a lot since their early releases that I didn't enjoy that much. They have become one of the leading goth bands in Poland.
ART OF DARKNESS „Mind Suicide”
N.W.O.S.D.M is what this demo contains. It includes 5 songs which are in general good but they suffer at a lack of own ID.
ARRIVAL „An Abstract of Inertia”
I must admit to knowing nothing at all about this lot. I heard one of the songs off this album on a sampler I picked up in France and found myself quite intrigued.
ARCTURUS „The Sham Mirrors”
Third I generate of Arcturus, The sham mirrors, arrives with the load that another almost twin group, Ulver, has put in its shoulders. What undeniably it puts in risk the identity of Arcturus, that would consider it like the most gothic part and metal fist of the Ulver-Arcturus pair, that is the bands in which the creative and amazing performance, they make a work monumental of each album.
ARCH ENEMY „Wages of Sin”
Push the cd in the player, hear a short intro, that can be discribed as the moment before jumping of a mountain, and listen to the falling… This album has it all! Killing riffs (actually all the time), wonderful solo's, great atmospheric parts, more mysterious songs, but also more brutal and aggressive ones! Add to that: great aggressive vocals from a new (really good-looking) female vocalist, yes, you'll be amazed if you hear her, crushing most male vocalists in the genre.

Anthenora is an Italian band which exists since 1990. they are into classic heavy metal with the well-known influences.
