NEUROTHING is a Polish proposition for death metal fans. After the successes of bands such as BEHEMOTH or VADER, more and more groups from Poland are trying to reach for the stars, in the metal market. As it is very difficult in this country, it is the market itself, that will verify those people and their “pulp”.

The album starts which a huge dose of power – like a spurt of machine gun fire. The guitar riff and those ultra fast drums create a real death atmosphere. And when the fleshy growl appears it becomes a model death metal sound. But later on this power vanishes, it gets lost in the repetitions of sounds and ideas, everything simply slows down. It is still strong, but not as mush as at the very beginning. With elements of hardcore, which torture the ears as a film from the same climate crushes our brains. There is no continuum of music, inside of one song, everything is cut into pieces and can be depicted as a pedestrian crossing – white fields are the music (in this case the guitar riff), black – drums. Those pauses are too irritating. After a while of listening, it feels like someone was smashing your head with a baseball bat. The good impression from the beginning perishes, the sound is downgrading from song to song. Sometimes it reminds the whirr of a broken lawn mower. One thing that develops is the vocal line and sound. From deep throat growl to comprehensible and clear singing, which is attractive and draws the attention. What is also interesting about this album is the fact, that without looking at the LCD screen of the hi-fi stack system, you are unable to say whether the song has changed or not.

And let this be a final thought. There are some interesting moments, but moments are not enough. These are slight motif changes. But the overall image does not allow those little sparks to develop. It is a pure death album and it is dead boring.
