Haiduk is an single, independent metal artist from Canada, stationed in town – Calgary. A man named Luca Milojica created to this date two releases. First, eight song demo was created in 2010, called “Plagueswept” and another full-length album of the artist was released in June last year and after few listens of this stuff I try to show you my impressions of metal sound from cold, northern forests of Canada.
The album begins with an incredible fury and speed. Ultra-fast riffs and gunfire cannonades of drums and bass lines, plus a powerful, growling of Luca determine the object of interest of the artist. Trash metal patents virtually mingle equally with death metal leanings, causing tremors to the body. Over all the music rises murderous climate of Nordic black metal. In general, the music from the album, despite not going beyond past divisions marked by bands like Slayer, Kreator and Bathory, well-enters the founding head of a lot of fun, while not falling into blind imitation. Feel that, musician finds himself in this climate. A lot of really good, twisted riffs, usually very raw and fast as did the death and thrash metal should sound. There is also couple of monumental slow moments indeed and even a place for a successful part of acoustic guitar. Everything is played with devil power, concrete energy, without undue of the unnecessary progression. Real, brutal and dirty piece of old school metal madness. The only thing that somewhat reduces the sensation, is recording drums, or rather drum machine, but it really is a small drawback and not predominate the overall quality of the blasphemous art. The inspiration for the album by music, was cut off from the external forms of existential and focus on concepts such as black magic, evil, nature and myth. Did he succeed? Check it out. Speelbook is more than 30 minutes of uncompromising and devilishly dark metal.
