The Canadians from TYMO started thrashing about 7 years ago. And soon they released their first album “The Lone Wolf”. Two years later, they released their second album, “Purge & Reset”. Then the singles came out during a long break. In addition, the band toured and gained more and more experience and self-confidence, which resulted in this album, which was released in February of this year.
TYMO broadcasts a very loud and even furious version of Thrash Metal around. This time it is more technical and heavier than previous albums. However, this is not chaotic Thrash Metal!
The songs are bursting with thrash aggression and speed, containing fierce riffs and sharp solos. Sometimes the band reveals progressive aspirations to their arrangements hrough technical plays and varied rhythms, often breakneck. However, this should not be combined with light Jazz licks, but with fast, melodic, shredding phrases. Sometimes the solo guitar slows down, but just to play a melodic solo. Other times, the bass will take the lead, playing dynamic parts.
These thrash arrangements by TYMO are led by very emphatic, screaming vocal (at times very predatory and bestial), which are accentuated by the choirs typical of the style, or a second vocal, more often screaming, less hoarsely singing, sometimes darkly reciting and even complementing each other at the same time.
The riffs are very stylish, classic, with a specific melody and energy typical for Thrash Metal.
Musically, they can be compared to EXODUS or to Polish SOUL COLLECTOR. Although TYMO on “The Art Of A Maniac” does not slow down, which the above bands do. TYMO’s music rushes and thrashes all the time. There is no respite!
Lyrically, TYMO covers the topics of mental illness, alien’s invasions, social conflicts, social media and substance abuse. That is Thrash Metal to the fullest!
The cover art was made by Andrei Bouzikov (MUNICIPAL WASTE, TOXIC HOLOCAUST). So the cover is also very stylish, very thrash!
