Liquid Metal to honor EVILE bassist Mike Alexander

The staff of Sirius XM's Liquid Metal were all crushed to hear about the untimely passing of EVILE bassist, Michael Alexander. As some of the band's earliest American supporters, the Liquid Metal staff felt that it would only be proper to honor the life and career of one of the most promising young bassists to hit the metal scene for some time. That is why they will air a special tribute to the late EVILE bassist this Friday, October 23rd at 10am EST (with repeats this Saturday at 4pm EST and Sunday at 12pm EST) on Sirius 27/XM 42.

Join on-air personality, Zeena as she airs excerpts of an interview she had conducted this past summer with Michael and bandmate, Ol Drake in what would turn out to be the final American radio interview for the beloved EVILE bassist.

In addition, she will be spinning some of EVILE's best tracks alongside a very special world premiere of the band's take on the PANTERA classic, “Cemetery Gates.” Originally meant to be a Winter 2009 tribute to Dimebag Darrell, EVILE's take on the track has been given an entirely new significance as it was the last song that Michael had ever recorded with the band.

Join Zeena on Liquid Metal as respects are paid to EVILE's Michael Alexander this Friday at 10am EST (with repeats this Saturday at 4pm EST and Sunday at 12pm EST) on Sirius 27/XM 42.

On October 5th, 2009, just a few days into their European tour with Amon Amarth, Evile's Mike Alexander was suddenly taken ill and rushed to hospital, but tragically passed away in Lulea, Sweden. Evile members Matt Drake, Ol Drake and Ben Carter released a statement that can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/nunU2

EVILE guitarist, Ol Drake and bassist, Michael Alexander were in New York City this summer conducting press for their new album, INFECTED NATIONS. The guys at Guitar World magazine were on hand to film the occasion. Watch as Ol and Michael walk the NYC streets, taking some time to gawk at instruments and geek out in the NHL store.
