Cool songs: Deeper Into Nothing

IT WILL COME was born in Sweden in 2003 with one main goal: to play heavy, slow and melodic metal. After some time they managed to release a three-track demo (47) and recently they re-release it with three more compositions (the album has a label: The Best Of).

The album starts with a moderate amount of power which is being downgraded later on. And this is depressing power combined with a characteristic mourning female voice. A typical dooming production. The technicalities are quite good, even though the guitars and drum fills sound strangely artificial. The drummer seemed to ran out of ideas some time ago and now he can only repeat himself from one song to another. Furthermore, the rest is sheer predictability and monotony. I can understand the depressing mood, but the music shows that the artists have got some sort of depression. There are no motif shifts, the style and pace almost always stays the same. Is it as if they tried to charge the fortress of boredom. Thanks to their album the word ‘boredom’ gained another extension.

‘47’ is nothing original. It is even inappropriate for rebellious teens who pierce their ears, noses and other parts of the body, dye their hair black and walk as if they had sniffed some glue. Even they need some energy. But this album lacks it.
