DEICIDE Confirm Puerto Rico Tour Despite Church's Backlash

Death metal stalwarts DEICIDE have confirmed March tour dates in Mexico and Costa Rica, despite current backlash from members of the Costa Rican churches and community surrounding the venue. Monsignor Jose Francisco Ulloa, president of the Episcopal Conference and bishop of Carthage, has openly spoken out against DEICIDE’S visit to Costa Rica and has called on the community to aid in shutting down the show. The monsignor stated on America Radio that “ We cannot admit a group like this to be allowed in communities as these. I believe that the town has the right to reject all that. I believe that as much the municipality, as well as other communal organizations, look at the 10 of March to be united in the movement to avoid that presentation that goes by that diabolic line.” A few locals have replied to this call with thoughtful and open-minded remarks, confirming that it should be the right of organizers to put on whatever concerts they want to despite the artists’ ideology. Unscathed, promoters confirm that the show will go on and DEICIDE will come to Costa Rica after a string of dates in Mexico. DEICIDE have also released “Doomsday LA,” a live DVD featuring the all-new lineup and packed with bonus music videos for “Homage for Satan” and “Desecration.”
