DEVOLVED

Qld based metal giants devolved have almost completed pre-production for all tracks to be included on the bands next release. Members have confirmed the recording will be a full-length album which will be available world-wide. It will be the follow up release to the highly acclaimed 2001'technologies' debut CD which had the band recieving rave reviews and touring throughout much of the globe. Guitarist brett noordin has stated “the band decided to leave the continuation of the 'automation' ep's for future release as our writing and recording timeframe was prolonged after my arm was badly injured in a vehicle accident at the end of last year, and our drummer john sankey relocated temporarily to los angeles to fulfil other musical committments. Those incidents were a set back for the bands schedule but now we have a full album ready to go full of absolute chaos! 'Automation 002' and '003' are still definitely planned for release down the track as part of the devolved catalogue”. While all music has been written for the as yet untitled forth-coming album, both noordin and sankey are now busily completing the lyrics to be included. When asked of the lyrical content sankey says, “as with 'technologies' we have really concentrated on making the lyrics very strong and provoking, which will once again set the theme of devolved. Expect thoughts and images of darkness, confusion, disorder and total insanity!” of course it is still unclear as to who will sing these words on the album, as the search is now on for a full-time vocalist who is able to fulfil the uneasy task of portraying such madness. Anyone confident of filling the position can contact devmanagement@hotmail.com for more information, auditions are to be held soon. 12 songs are set for inclusion on the album, 2 of which will be limited edition bonus tracks. Some of the studio working titles to be inluded are 'biotics', 'hybrid of symmetry', 'vex', and 'prototype'. Also to appear on the album are re-recorded versions of 'derivative', 'impute' and 'assimilate' previously available on the 'automation 001' ep, and are-recorded version of metallica's 'battery' which until now is only available as a demo track in japan. Devolved management have also commented that a guest guitarist will perform with the band in the studio on the 'battery' recording. the new devolved album is temporarily scheduled for a late 2003 release.
