SHADAR LOGOTH „Curse”
Maine may be better known as the usual setting for Stephen King's novels, but the real Maine is home to a super-obscure quartet calling themselves Shadar Logoth. Their name taken from Robert Jordan's “Wheel of Time” series (isn't this review rich in literary references?), the Shadar Logoth lads play a strange metal hybrid that incorporates elements of Borknagar, Dimmu Borgir, Martriden, Abigail Williams, Blind Guardian, and a thrash metal band or two.
SYNESTHESIE „Horrors of an Old Turntable”
The French SYNESTHESIE was formed in 2003 and at the beginning the group was called SKULL X. The founding fathers were Brice and Clément, at the beginning they were the base guitarists of the group, but when Camille joined them, Clément changed his gear to bass guitar.
LA RUMEUR DES CHAINES „La Rumeur Des Chaines ”
In 2001 Alexandre and Yann decided to make something of their own, form a band, which will be something quite rare, on the French ground. Within the first months of working, they managed to record an instrumental EP, a cross between heavy and dark metal.
MORGUL „All Dead Here”
I discovered Morgul (and a particular track from this album) one day whilst listening to my radio station on Pandora.com. As soon as the track Hategrinder came on, I knew that I had to find out more about this mysterious band.
SHADAR LOGOTH „Self-titled Demo”
SHADAR LOGOTH hails from the cold corner of the United States eastern coast, Maine. The blizzards, raging cold winters and primeval forests that comprise the bands home base are given praise to in the form of SHADAR LOGOTH.
WOODS OF YPRES „Pursuit of the Sun & Allure of the Earth”
WOODS OF YPRES is one of those bands who defy classification. Like OPETH and AGALLOCH, much of their music is melodic, relying on acoustic intros and wind downs.
NOCTUARY „Recollections”
Cool Songs: Black Angels Return, Forever Shrouded Within This World, Sorrow in Winter Darkness, A Tear's Descent From Heaven (Live)
.
IPSUM „Mystic Evilution”
The name of the band, Ipsum, is Latin, and since I'm thought Latin, I can analyse this name. I don't know if it is solid and reliable, but I'll try to get it as trustworthy as possible.
DARK FORTRESS „Profane Genocidal Creations”
Profane Genocidal Creations is Dark Fortress' second album, after Tales From Eternal Dusk. PGC really is a masterpiece, all Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir and Dissection fans, eat this!
.
AJATTARA „Kuolema”
A friend of mine told me to check them out some time ago, so I did, and I must say I like Ajattara.
