In the 90th years of XX century the majority of metalheads connected Norway with Black Metal – and correctly, because many bands from Norway from this period played this kind of Metal. Despite all, HORIZON ABLAZE is one of many exceptions which do not confirm this rule, because the band is the representative of deadly kind of Metal. Moreover, their debut album “Spawn” is concept-album, and it also seldom happens in Death Metal. The action of the album is in period of II war of world, somewhere in fictitious universe… I will not tell more to will not betray a secret…

The music from “Spawn” also mirrors a climate of war. The tracks are very ill-boding and replete with destructive strength – the heavy riffs (sound like guns), the percussive hits of drums (like explosions of bombs) as well as the aggressive vocals (the murderous growlings and the screams)… These compositions bring the war paintings – the destruction, the fear and the conflagration …

But brutal, heavy and crushing serves are not only on “Spawn”. The well marked complex parties of bass guitar are supplement of the whole which underline technical character of presented Death Metal. Moreover the un-musical motifs appear there (in style of movie's fragments) as well as the short motifs of keyboards underlining dark climate of war.

The whole is very intensed by the sounds with various rhythms, sometimes outright surprising – from mad paces, rhythms and industrial hits, till slow psychedelic accents. The album of HORIZON ABLAZE proved that Norwegians also are able to play high quality Death Metal.
