“Falling Through Rainbows” is the fourth album of Canadian composer. The album was released by Unicorn Digital. In years 80th and 90th Rick Miller got many experiences when he worked at different studies of recordings. In his music is many fascination of Progressive Rock from 70th years. Someone compares his compositions to PINK FLOYD and THE MOODY BLUES. However I would show the bit of similarity to JETHRO TULL, LED ZEPPELIN and SIMON AND GARFUNKEL and first of all to Hard Rock ballads (with the flute, the violins, the acoustic guitars). Generally there reigns climate from the Hard Rock ballads – very calm, sometimes outright sleepy, melancholy with note of psychedelia…
The music freely runs in a space and induces the multicoloured paintings or the fabulous places in an imagination. Calm and nostalgic singing of Rick gently leads us to imaginary lands. The vocals sometimes rise to emotional uplands. However there still are balladic areas. The guitar creations flow on a sea of acoustic sounds, sometimes drowning in depth of heavier riffs and after a moment they fly up toward the solo expressions. And the calm percussive rhythms as well as the beautiful sounds of flute, keys and the string instruments accompany for the whole. And it gives softness and the sensitivity to the music. Rick Miller arranging “Falling Through Rainbows” proved that he has a huge sensibility and a musical imagination. He created the very romantic material full of nostalgia, melancholy and sometimes sunken in bit of darkness, mysticism and even in a fear.
I wonder who are the rest of musicians? Mainly I think about Kane Miller (the guitar and the violins) and Mateusz Swoboda (the cello). The last one musician has Polish surname
