People change, artists change, their works change too. Your idol may arrive at conclusion that he don't want to do this anymore and show You his/her other side. Mostly – crap. It doesn't matter what motives drives him – money, fame, chicks, revelation. Damage is done. Second way of screwing up Your idols work is slow evolution, in which after X albums You ask Yourself a question “What I admired him for?”. But this is nature of world. Everything changes. Then what to do If You want to listen something always?

Find a copy.

World is old, thats obvious. If You ever tried to make something creative, You'd probably found out that Your innovative and creative idea is not so fresh, because at least 3 people before You were hit by that idea. Why such beggining? Appears from it, that I know this artist, and he is a veteran battling stages for eons. Wrong, and wrong, but I know original – Satriani and he fits that statement. Maybe it is somewhat unfair for Tonelli, but in my opinion that's the truth. When You compare this album with any of Satch albums from '92 to '98 You will be surprised with tons of similarities. Usually I would be angry because of that and simply I wouldnt write this review, because I would have to use many words unsuitable for publishing. But not this time. Andre chose most beautyful period in Satch works and… is carrying it on. It is nothing wrong when Satch is not Satch anymore. King's dead, long live the king. About music – I don't know what to say, because fundamentally everything was already said. Shred is such music genre, where if You want to shine You have to asssume that listener knows who Satch, Vai and so on is. It is like assuming that thrash fan knows what Slayer is. Music found on “Power World Fantastic” is mostly instrumental rock, sometimes showing off her claw, sometimes looking at You with big brown eyes. We can find some catchy riffs, amazing tapping and a lot of wah. Honestly, if someone had'nt done that before – it would be one of the best albums of the 2008. But someone did… and that changes nothing – album is still great. Everytime I review such works I look for things that I would change. Here I would change “So Nice” – song, that is actually funny, but IMO it's not suitable for whole album concept. Remember, even if You are not guitar freak – check title track on myspace. It's terrific.

All in all, if You are melted down by “Crystal Planet” and You listen to guys like Tafolla or Anastassakis You should have this one.
