The producers and spin doctors describe this album as a twelve-tracker in the school of hard knuckles. And I have to admit, that this hard release, the long awaited full-length album by NONWORKINGGENERATION is a real surprise to me… it kicks ass… sometimes.

This music was recorded with one primal purpose: to create as much noise as possible. And I have to agree with it, that the guys from Norway are good in that. Their music sounds like a hybrid of AUDIOSLAVE, early SYSTEM OF A DOWN and some SLAYER stuff. As a matter of fact, the boys admit, that they are slightly influenced by SOAD. But to the point… this does not mean, that this inconvenient alliance helped the music to gain something superb. On the contrary: it is heavy, with the right amount of power, but does not blow away. You can listen to it, because it is an easy listening with catchy riffs and comprehensible melodic line. The content is also O.K. But something is still missing. It is not the variety, power or technical detail. The album aspires for some indie and psychedelic shelves, but with such a simple approach, this will take forever. Too much of that yelling stuff. And one last thing: those acoustic-like tracks and poetry fit to words-like ‘The Tivoli’ are the best songs here.

‘My Mouth Belongs to You’ is a good album, with some slight lacks. The music is once aggressive, once poetic, and deserves a listening. But this does not guarantee that you will fall in love with it.
