DETRIMENT are best described by… themselves on their official site. This group which was created in 2001 is comprised of musicians who are quite experienced with music and recording. And they suddenly decided to form own band and show everyone in the world, their fantastic talents.

But do not expect much from this band, because the best thing they can do is… not recording and playing, but copying. The lead vocalist pretends nicely, that he is the James Hetfield himself. But is not! The music is quite dull and deprived of any possible power. Everything is dominated by the vocal (fantastic mixing and mastering), the instruments are a kind of background for the vocalist – the music is not a background, it simply stands somewhere in the back and gently raises its hand to ask, may it join in? but the singer does not allow it do get involved. The riffs are very old fashioned and sometimes can annoy, especially when you hear the same riff, repeated over and over again. After the end of that boring sound, appears another, which starts with… the same riff. This should not happen.

‘Surreal’ is a less than average production, with no main concept, originality, freshness or even idea of the whole. This is the most common problem and people still repeat it. Do they really listen to their albums before they decide them to be released? I do not think so. And the last remark: we have go the 21st century, but this music sounds as if it was recorded three or four decades ago. Again, this will not do.
