CEREBUS EFFECT is considerable challenge for a reviewer because “Act Of Deception” do not belong to conventional music's styles (as the different releases of team). My ignorance in this matter is additional difficulty because I very seldom have opportunity to listen bands this type…

The bands defines one's music as fussion/progressive rock!… However I in timeof the review qualify that very complicated works as psychodelic/progressive jazz-rock… I think the qualification is good. It is progressive rock undeniably with strong influence of jazz and small traces of metal music… at first sight of the music makes impression of total disharmony and chaos. From first side – Do those compositions have some harmony, some order? Probably only the creators of these arrangements know the answer. And from second side, after longer study this material I feel like to use one of my favourite ascertainments – this is the controlled chaos. The musicians control this masterly gunfire of sounds decidedly. It gives evidence their the professional approach to subject…

The compositions of “The Act Of Deception ” are finished up with every sound, they contain the innumerable quantity of masterly melodies and musical displays, innumerable quantity of phrases. It in principle is instrumental music, although the unconventional vocal seldom appear. The every individual track has huge quantity of solo volleys, which explode simultaneously or alternatively. The every instrumentalist with one's advanced musical parties has many to saying here.

So wide complex music creates very psychedelic climate including many emotions and dynamics penetrating in dark or melancholy regions sometimes.

I think about associations… maybe MARILLION's instrumental motives or KING CRIMSON???… Anyway it is the powerful dose of progressive subjects! I have impression!!!
