If the groups name is more than enough for one person to misconstrue the type of musical vein Mind Ripper is, then think again. Residing from a country renowned for its language, food and culture these four Frenchmen lash out their dark aggressive natures with their freshman debut Kahos Humana. Since this is the first full length for this group this album pulsates some hard hitting drumming, anger powered vocals to concentrated thrash metal guitar chops Mind Ripper adds a touch of black metal twist of energy components to their compositions. Examples of these darker musical structures are Deny, Ce jour la and Larmes. One interesting thing in account besides the brutal elements that this group gives off is the straightforward singing in their native French tongue that adds almost a mystic to the blend of music.

Kahos Humana is a CD from a band that does not utilize the traditional bonus of keyboard that one usually finds within the black metal scene separating this group into a different line of their own. Recording is done superbly adding the musical highlights of the bands talent, especially drummer Floran for which one can say a Nick Barker mini me in the making. Overall this album more than makes up for the newness of a group starting out. Fast, furious and refreshing Mind Ripper does it all!
