RELAYPSE „Demo”

First of all: they are young and Italian… doesn't say much, does it? Well, their demo sounds like a highly professional recording and the production is pretty close to the first Godsmack-album. What first stuck me was the great sound quality. I listened through the 4 tracks and I have to admit: these guys know what they are doing and they are doing it well. I would say that musically this is a hybrid of Disturbed and Godsmack. The whole mixture is delivered with a fat guitar sound and chunky riffs that have a tinge of “slow Bay Area thrash metal”. All songs are kinda mid-tempo but they make you wanna slam dance with your sister. The vocalist Cri sings great (most of the time) and sounds mostly like the singers from the bands mentioned above… and every now and then his voice reminds me of the vocalist of Kilgore (if you don't know this band check 'em out!). Another good aspect is that the lead guitarist is very Kirk Hammet (Metallica) influenced in his solos and that is always a good thing.

The lyrics are delivered in a simplistic manner and seem to be very honest. This is not poetry in the same league as Tool's Maynard Keenan but the emotion is there and the vocals express it all the way.
