GORGASM „Bleeding Profusely”

GORGASM „Bleeding Profusely” - okładka

This is an album which gets straight to the point, no messing. 11 tracks in under 25 minutes doesn't give the band much time to add in many niceties. This doesn't matter as what we've got here is a potent little beast of a brutal death metal album. If I tell you a certain Dave Culross plays drums on this, it might give you an idea of what to expect.
The playing is super tight and the blast beats come thick and fast. The production is very solid and it gives plenty of space for the instruments to do their own thing. The guitars are powerful and clear and every contorted riff can be picked out. Throughout the album, there is some nice lead work and the choppy, stop – start riffs seem to work the best. This is no clone as no one I've heard can be directly compared to Gorgasm.

The song titles aren't very subtle, but hey, that's not why we listen to this, it's for the brutality of the music. They have now signed with Unique Leader who have gained a lot of respect by releasing some superb albums over the past few years, so watch out for the next album. For those of you who revel in the genius of Deeds of Flesh and their ilk, this comes highly recommended.
