DOMAIN „…from Oblivion”

DOMAIN „…from Oblivion” - okładka

First riffs of this album remind me a lot that project of Jason Newsted with Devin Townsend called IR8, it's like Celtic Frost going a little bit hardcore and using vocals that wanted to grunt but not reaching that level. The use of acoustic guitars adds a good effect and mark the difference between IR8 and Domain. On song number 3, The Maklu Spell, they use more acoustic guitars, keyboards and a female voice on the depth, like if were an intro to next song. This next one called Sunless Domain, has a more doom feeling and Slayer / Kreator type of riffs (but in slow motion). From this point, the album keeps in this style until the end except for track 10, The Enter, who is an acoustic piece with ethnic drums. To make this more understandable, remember classic songs like Morbid Angel's “God of emptiness” and Slayer' “Seasons in the abyss” and you can figure better what Domain it's trying to offer. To conclude, if you like killer riffs but in a slow motion, Domain is a great album to listen to. In my opinion, songs like Asymmetrical Megalt and Devilri who use cool keyboard effects are the highlights of this album. I haven't listen to new album, Gat Etemmi, so I expect more keyboard stuff in there.
