DARK MOOR „Between Light And Darkness”

DARK MOOR „Between Light And Darkness” - okładka

Actually I had never been fan of DARK MOOR and that whole New Wave Of Euro Power Metal. I like few of those bands, like let's say WHITE SKULL, FREEDOM CALL, STEEL ATTACK, IRON FIRE or some HAMMERFALL tunes, but most of those bands sounds like next HELLOWEEN / STRATOVARIUS clones, and it in most cases they sound too similar to each other… And hell yes, except of only few cases (CETI!) I truly hate keyboards in Metal, as they simply make the whole thing too sweet. But even if I'm not fan of that genre, I dare to say that Spanish DARK MOOR is one of the most original bands from that style, probably because of the unique voice of Elisa.
I just wonder what will happen to DARK MOOR after this release (5th in their career), as she lately left the band, but well, let's back to “Between Light And Darkness”. Actually I wouldn't call that album a Metal one – no headbanging rhythms, no guitar chainsaws, no hard and rough sound.. So what we got here? Catchy happy melodies, a lot of keyboards, cellos, flutes, pianos… Sometimes it reminds me to RHAPSODY / TURILLI works, so not exactly my can of beer. But if you guys are into Melodic Power Sympho Rock (not Metal, in my opinion), then try to get this one. More at www.dark-moor.com and www.arisemetal.com
