EGONAUT celebrates decade in this year. The album “Deilluminati” is the successor discs “Electric” and “Monut Egonaut”. Their music mainly oscillate around three genres of heavy music, namely Doom Metal, Stoner Metal and Hard Rock. This combination creates a quite distinctive style, especially the musicians also use the keyboard instruments (organ, mellotron and organ Moog), which makes the compositions sometimes sound in style of retro and additionaly make a little dark psychedelia.

While the music on “Deluminati” is not only based on the classic themes of the species mentioned above but sometimes the music also touches the faster or more aggressive areas of Metal music, like Heavy Metal and even Thrash, Death and Black Metal. The arrangements are able to surprise by some instrumental theme or vocal motif. Like in great song entitled “Hex” which is dark composition that connected powerful and massive Doom Death Metal and monstrous growls with melodic singing and atmosphere in the style of BLACK SABBATH (from the time with Ronnie James Dio on vocals).

Of course in the music of EGONAUT perhaps the most audible are the influences of ST. VITUS and BLACK SABBATH (with Ozzy Osbourne), which also can be heard in the vocal lines. But I’m not surprised, because if there was not BLACK SABBATH then probably there would not be Doom Metal and Stoner Rock.
