Despite the fact that all sides come to opinions about the end of death metal genre, lot of bands are still interested in developing this type of play. After all, in nature nothing is lost, so that the next generation of young, talented and hungry of brutal sound musicians grabs their instruments, trying to refresh with varying degrees formulas of death metal. Some guys still copy old patents of bands like: Deicide, Vader and Immolation, while others are trying to put a breathe in such extreme sounding has its own ideas and direct the genre in a completely different areas, while not forgetting the roots of this style. Dementia Senex at my and your happiness belongs to this second group of artists.
The band started their adventure with music in 2008, recording to this date two EP-s. The achievements of the group may not be too impressive, but the music is fully compensated. “Heartworm” contains more than a quarter intelligently developed metal art. The basis of the music is brutality, based as much on death and thrash metal and hard core patents. On this ground, the musicians are building their artistic vision, diversifying the whole lot of different arrangements. Motility, violent marches of instruments rooted in death metal, aggressive vocals, intricate guitar invoice from the melodic to the more chaotic, evocative of math metal, trance and space of post metal acts and above all unique nature and imagination, so that looks patent for music of this crew. Sounds of whole is brutal, not deprived of the dark climate and very selective, allowing capture every detail of the fine, of this extreme madness. The advantage of this short material is that musicians do not succumb only into death metal, letting a lot of interesting space. Aggression and anger correspond well with few awesome melodies, tempo changes and dynamic balancing, implying a powerful dose of delicious fun.
Dementia Senex records an interesting EP, uniting threads of traditional death metal and innovative solutions, mixed with the other, no less extreme metal genres and the surroundings areas. Reliable dose of stylish and concrete sound for fans old and new death metal type of carnage. Now we all need to wait for the full-length release to see how musicians can handle for more than the meager few minutes. The potential for the future is really promising, I hope that the Italians did not to waste that.
