About five years ago, fell into my hands first album of band – Svart Crown – “Ages Of Decay”, so it was my maiden meeting with this French crew. I admit that the first release did not make a colossal impression on me, typically black / death metal music at a decent level, but still wihout big fireworks, I thought to myself. A few years later, namely in 2010, premiered their second album titled – “Wittnesing The Fall” and that's when I think i need to look at French metalheads closely, because their next album was a big step forward, both in terms of how technical and composer. It's been three years and Svart Crown has released new blasphemous work – “Profane” which the band has raised the bar even higher than my expectations.

Music has not changed dramatically, we still have to deal with black / death metal at high speed, but outgoing a little out of this pattern, with a distinct, selectively and appropriately brutal production, twisted riffs, evil growls and dark, almost majestic atmosphere of the whole. Changes were on the ground as a composer and arrangement, adding to the impression of the density of sounds, diversion works, and most of all great desire to break away peeled off before playing formula to give the songs more space arrangement. The whole enormity of death metal blasts, fast and damn aggressive, intertwined with bulldozer, massive layoffs, along with a dark, smelly of open graves, demonical black metal strike hellish, infernal energy. Incredible amount of change of pace, mood and go with the phrase from death metal to these ominous blackness, at times even psychedelic accents of guitars and trance atmosphere, not allow you be bored during subsequent questioning, again and again exploring the dark world of record. Hatred, anger, aggression and filth seethes from your speakers, there is no room for centered emotions, but only putridity, death, madness, and gallons of brown, stale gore. Music very often do not have a point of reference, everything is totally twisted, it's hard to fathom at first contact with the disc, in the thicket of arrangements. You can hear that the musicians are not foreign atmosphere in design of band Neurosis, especially feel the inspiration in trance rhythm section and slowly, massive guitar parts, airless and tar, which involve sounds in the areas of ritual majesty. The technique of playing it's a different story, trough to the amazing ability of instrumentalists, metal carnage acquires the character of an outstanding artistry and imagination. Svart Crown drove nails into coffins to the many musicians rotating in similar areas, and I also think that this is not the last word, and probably, as indeed can be heard on this release, will expand his musical horizons on next production.

The French showed on – “Profane” that the death / black metal does not have to be air-tight, penetrating such topics as the ritual and trance showed that metal art has many names, putting on expanding quality framework, could be open to the influence of many different bands such as: Neurosis and The Secret, which, moreover, they said in one of the interviews given by them. A real piece of unorthodox extreme metal stuff. I recommend it!
