I have never before refered to the band from Japan, also I had never before get known Japanese music scene. In addition to a billion J-rock bands which slowly gain recognition in my country I am aware of several other awesome bands, metal bands for advance. GALNERYUS technical power metal, melodic death metal METAL SAFARI, and whether known to everybody oldschool SABBAT. So I am surprised by the presence of hardcore band on the Japanese scene. My surprise is all the greater because ENDZWECK is a band that for a any single moment dont give to know about their roots. If I havent know they come from Japan, I could say that the native Americans.

What makes me proud of them, is the fact they are not from the states! So it is good to know that not all the best bands come from USA or Sweden. Suddenly, on my metal/hardcore map of world there is a place for Japan. But enough talk about necessary shit, it's time to say something about ENDZWECK. From the very beginning of this short album I was very positively surprised. Quite fast tempo, melody, sharp voice of singer, punk vibe and the mass of positive energy these are features that characterize the sounds contained on The Grapes of Wrath.

In fact, I could get that end.But what if I write more. ENDZWECK attacks with great force destruction, and although their songs are quick and aggressive, are not devoid from melody. In fact, ENDZWECK sometimes reminds me the Japanese version of American IGNITE, only far more brutal than US buddies. Also Takashi Uesugi has awesome voice, harsh and full of primal fury. Riffs also associate with the Americans, and not necessarily those from IGNITE. Cramps, the whole material is passing so quickly that havent even focused on it hah. Also both guitar players in ENDZWECH seem to play much more agressive, with a strong hardcore ish than their American colleagues. Sometimes this rapid riff play is full of those American hardcore elements, and also it is mixed with a punk vibe!

I do not know how to look ENDZWECK concerts, but I guess that the audience is fucking crazy for most of the time. Billions of circle pits, hundreds of angry moshers, and I can truly predict that ENDZWECK gigs must be a total blast! I hope they will play a show in Poland someday, that would be an insane night to remember. To make a conclusion, if you're looking for a band that plays sharply and melodic, and not necessarily metal ENDZWECK is something for you!

note: 8/10
