The band started their work in late 2004, when ex INFERNAL ANGEL drummer, Deimos, and Vlad decided to do something of their own. They did not have to wait long to gather a full squad, so after a short preparation, the band started writing material for their debut album, which has been brought to daylight in 2006. ‘Soilblack’ is their first release, a short demo, revealing the blackest corners of their minds.

‘Soilwork’ is a proposition directly aimed at not-so-demanding public. Those depressing in mood, lazy compositions, do not offer much, in terms of listening. It is just model black metal, with symphonic elements, but how long can one feel excited by that black pulp, which almost always sounds exactly the same? This music has all the indicators of genre, with doom connotations, but very narrowed and not innovating play. What is more, the album sounds awfully, as if it was recorded in a cellar. The guitars sound like an engine of a coffee machine, and the vocal is simply not loud enough. Only the drums seem to be working properly, although there is too much bass in them. This creates a feeling of an exploding head, which is highly not recommended. The tracks are more or less the same, two motifs within one song, is the best the musicians can do. In other words, poorly.

Someone should finally say it out loud, that it is impossible to make good music only by using two ideas and spicing them with a dose of power. It is simply not enough, as for someone who wants to start their musical career. As if the chef of a restaurant served only two main dishes: scrambled eggs with bacon a la tomatoes, or a la onion. As for now… hold the onion.
