If someone thought that this band is not from Italy – sorry, you are wrong. ASSEDIUM is another Italian group who reinforced the army of epic heavy metal. It is clearly visible, that in this field Italy has the strongest representation.

The album starts very powerfully and heavily, with magnificent “Ancestral”. In this one song everything is embedded. Classic guitar riff, clear and strong vocal and quick and dynamic drums. This invites the listener to come into this epic world. And later on it is going even better. This is a classic heavy metal, with characteristic leading guitar and hard riffs in the background plus some motif changes (very often). This model of metal music is visible especially in “Messenger Of Chaos”. The instrumental “Swordance” also deserves at least several times of listening, to understand its beauty. Very short, but it is as powerful as short. This composition has so much strength that it can easily move a mountain. Plus the variety of styles and sounds in this album pulverize. After a fast composition, there appears a slower one, but it is reinforced by power. And every song gains a new dimension, thus the boredom is a completely inadequate word. The climax is reached when “Imperial Dream” and “Thirst For Glory” fell into ones ear. Real masterpieces. They just lick the ear with the most delicate tongue in the world. Not to mention the technical level, which is of a very high standard.

ASSEDIUM is a great choice if someone does not know what to choose from the Italian shelf. If not the best one. Nowadays, when the mighty RHAPSODY lost their power, such alternative can be of high value.
