Bloodbath is some brutal, Swedish Death and includes an all star lineup of brutal Death metalers from bands like Opeth, Hypocrisy, Katatonia, Witchery, Satanic Slaughter, to name a few. This is their second full length on Century Media and sees Peter Tagtgren from Hypocrisy on vocals and Martin Axenrot of Witchery on drums. Dan Swano takes up some brutal Death guitar. If you like Swedish Death, than Bloodbath is a dream come true. It's down and dirty Swedish brutality from some great veterans of the genre. Although Swedish Death has headed in a more commercial direction, this is old school at it's best.

Your Death Metal dreams come true from the onset with some brutal, pounding death with “Cancer Of The Soul”. Pete's vocals fit this lineup perfectly and his bloodcurdling screams make this a pure Death masterpiece. “Brave New Hell” is melodic with classic Swedish speed and the vocals are as brutal as it gets. This is the shiiiiaatt!!! It never lets up either. The pounding, bloodcurdling, brutality continues on, song after song. From “Soul Evisceration” through to “Blood Vortex” you get blast beating speed, melodic headbanging, fist pumping rhythms, and stomping death, just as you would expect, knowing the careers of the guys bringing it to you. It ends with two of their demos from their first ep as a bonus and are a true brutal stamp on this tracklist. Just get this, because with the state of Bloodbath in 2006, there might not be any more. Dan Swano and Pete have left and no suitable replacements have yet been found and with the commercial success of Opeth, Bloodbath may have been a short-lived project. However, you would be missing some classic brutal Death, Swedish style, which is as good as it gets, if you didn't add this to your collection.
