IN TEARS BEREAVED „Komatos”

In Tears Bereaved is an one man’s band from Austria. Roman Modliba was the only person behind this band during the recordings of this demo release. A recording that took place in his pc so you can easily understand that the production isn’t great although it is very good in comparison with other pc recordings I have listened to.

The four tracks of this demo are into melodic doom/death metal with growling vocals and with a fast tempo considering their style. I can’t say I enjoyed “Komatos”. Roman has some ideas but you have to both good musician and an inspired one to compose and perform 4 tracks by your own. The good ideas of this demo are lost behind many average parts and the production. My advice would be to work these songs with the new members of the band and try to record in a studio. And I also think that a not so fast tempo would be better for the band. There are some parts where you feel a melancholic tone in the music like the acoustic beginning of “Abschied” and I think in that sound the band would be better.

I have nothing else to say. A below average release but with a full line up and a good production things may be better for the band. Let’s see…
