SKINNY PUPPY „Rabies”

This CD starts out with the song –

1.. Rodent – Starts out with simple drum machine loop and kicks in some extra background noise to fuel the voice of Nevek Ogre. Towards the end a killer metal guitar riff (all though simple) is very effective to fit this song. A great lyrical masterpiece as are all of Novak's lyrics. With sections such as “Level Edge Backs Against The Ledge, No Knives, The Stone Hard Eyes, Without The Longing Or The Fear That It Would Disappear” and “Wired Not Connected, Pealing Back Plastic Wrap, Tinted Green And All An Allusion”

2.. Hexonxonx – One of the most amazing Skinny Puppy songs ever in my opinion. With lyrics suck as “Make A Million Living Things Suffer, Hidden Glad Garbage Body Bag, What of That Change That Could Save Everything, That Paper Shredder, Patent Tender, Puts Us Back In Time Again” And the slow upbeat drum patterns and cool industrial sound only drive this off beat madman ramble deep into your skull.

3.. Two Time Grime – Ok so I don't have to keep repeating.all songs on this album have an instrumental drum beat. Allot of the album was produced and engineered by A. Jourgensen so Imagine The Ministry album that came out a year prior to this CD . Land of Rape And Honey.. and that will suffice as a crude example of the beats here. This song is a good one but the lyrics are not included in the album jacket and I'd hate to miss quote.

4.. Fascist Jock Itch – Fast ass blast beats start this off and inter the driving synth to ensue chaos and crazy/intense vocals. Very fast and upbeat for Skinny Puppy. Something you find more so in early recordings.

5.. Worlock – One of the most famous Skinny Puppy songs in history. Very gruesome look into the eye of death and destruction. (The video to this was compiled of hundreds of clips taken out of horror movies because of too much gore) (To download this hard to find video visit: http://sick.cirilo.net/ ) “Eye dropping, Biopsy, Cyclops overlooks, Optic Options, Rotten Show Stopper, Skin popper, Babbler, Dabbler, Self Confessed Criminal, Tore Pen In Vain” and “Wasted Views, That's all I see Blue, …With The Right Attitude You Will Succeed Blue” as some of the lyrics and samples of Charles Manson's voice added for dramatic effect.

6.. Rain – Short Ambient Vocal Track.

7.. Tin Omen – Skin tearing vocals. Mentioning allot of rebellion and war..even mentioning Kent State's riots of 68 not being anything to great. “All good People Are Asleep And Dreaming”

8.. Rivers – Song entirely comprised of samples.

9.. Choralone – Ambient song with a scary ass speech . making a better into than a song and serves as one on the Too Dark Park Video Collection. All videos available at: http://sick.cirilo.net/ .

10.. Amputate – Slower gurgling lyrics. Interesting to listen to but very short.

11.. Spahn Dirge (Live) – Great live performance . Obviously recorded indoor with allot of echo. Very cold and dark. A non stop assault of the senses that lasts for over 16 minutes!
