This is s disc that I have been on the edge of my seat waiting on since I heard the band was recording it. I go way back as a GRAVE DIGGER fan and the band has only let me down a couple of times but then again no one is perfect and you cant please everyone all the time. Let me start off by saying that Manni Schmidt (guitar) has gelled very well with the rest of the band since his freshman effort THE GRAVE DIGGER. He has in my opinion delivered the finest performance that I have ever heard him give including his days in the band RAGE. This man was mente for GRAVE DIGGER. Not to take anything from the rest of the band for I do think that this Disc is the bands best performance to date. Stefan Arnold (Drums), Jens Becker (bass), HansPeter (keyboard) and special guest Das Letzte Einhorn from the band IN EXTREMO on vocals deliver a performance that is legendary in the GRAVE DIGGER name.
This is a concept disc as many of the others in there catalog but there is something different about this one. The writing of the music and the arrangement makes you visualize a movie soundtrack in your mind. Along with Chris Boltendahl's vocal work makes this a disc to be reckoned with. Chris explores every vocal style he has ever performed on this disc to give the story depth and character with a sense of drama and to help put every emotion posable into the performance. The music is rich and thick and well written. The rhythm changes and hooks on this disc will not only make you bang your head but you will sit and listen in amazement to the arrangement and structure of the songs. This is the most guitar oriented disc that I have heard them do in quite some time. the whole disc is centered around Chris's vocals and the talent of Manni. When you listen to this disc and get to the end it leaves me with a bit of disappointment that there are no more songs on the disc. This disc is a must have for any GRAVE DIGGER fan or any fan of German power metal. By far the best disc that GRAVE DIGGER has done to date.
