GOD DETHRONED „Into The Lungs Of Hell”

I'm glad to review some stuff from my homecountrey, I hope it doesn't distort my opinion on this great dutch death metal band.

Ok, so there is metal, and there is METAL around. God Dethroned happens to be under the METAL name! This album has it al, brutal melodies, magnificant solos, brilliant riffs, and blazing blastbeats that cary the music around on their wings of giant machine guns! Beautiful yet vicious, slow but often raging and blazing at full speed.

It's hard to describe what the music is like, but I'll try: it sounds a bit like Amon Amarth if you're talking about the melodies. But this shit is way heavier, and more aggressive, ramming through everything with its bulldoze riffs. Add to that, that it has these cool solos and blastbeats. What is so different about this album compared to their previous albums, is that this one is more Gothenburg, thrashy and slower (what is not really a bad thing in this case).

The first song is a good kick off, starting off slow, but after a few minutes the speed is increased. The lirics are black, and so are the vocals, what is so special about them is that they are quite understandable. Every word is barked out with murderous precision. The next song is a masterpiece! Starting off with a more peaceful and melodic intro, soon to be overkilled by an awesome blastbeat that comes along with a lot of stereo-screaming, like a peaceful countrey being attacked by the warcult: sudenly blown to bits! After that, the starting melodie comes back in a heavier and aggressive form, among other very cool melodies and riffs. The next one on the list is a real killer too with a killing melodie that splits the lirical parts apart. Soulsweeper is a song that even overkills, first a mid-tempo, but after a minute or so, you'll be killed by this AWESOME riffing supporting:

“God is dead
Your god is dead
God is dead
I am the devil
Soulreaper
Soulsweeper”

And this is exactly where God Dethroned is all about: Bloody Blasphemy!!! The Lirics are all about telling you that God sucks, not only the christian God, but God in general.

As this song fades away you are starting to feel rather relaxed, but the next track has a magnificant starting melodie, and you'll be sucked into the lungs of hell again. The following songs sound a little like the previous one, but the last one stands out clear.
