WISHMASTER – Wywiad z Wishmanem
Szczeciński WISHMASTER to jeszcze mało znana nazwa na naszym podwórku, mimo że działają od 1999 roku. W ostatnim okresie szczęście zaczęło im sprzyjać dzięki wydanemu własnym sumptem demo “Dance Of The Hanged Man”. Wzmożona działalność koncertowa u boku min. SUFFOCATION, POGROM 1147, INFERNAL WAR czy ANIMA DAMNATA, oraz ciepłe przyjęcie wspomnianego materiału pchnęły zespół do nagrania kolejnej odsłony o tytule “Hunting The Man”. Wprawdzie nagrania jeszcze nie dobiegły końca, ale pozwoliłem sobie na pogawędkę z Wishmanem – basistą i wokalistą grupy, odnośnie ich nowego dzieła.
Miłego czytania.
SWALLOW THE SUN – Interview with Keyboardist Aleksi Munter and Guitarist Juha Raivio
Finland is the land of a thousand lakes and even more metal bands. Many types of metal bands call this northern, European country home. Whether it is speed metal like NORTHER and CHILDREN OF BODOM, black metal such as BEHERIT, IMPALED NAZARENE, and ARCH GOAT or goth metal like SENTENCED and HIM, Finland is near the top in the world in production of quality and quantity of metal. Finland is a country with a distinct culture, so the sounds of its bands are of an equal distinction. Doom metal seemed molded from Finlands icy, arctic countryside. Near the top, reigns the melancholy-toned SWALLOW THE SUN. Following the release of their latest album Hope, the group embarked upon their first United States tour supporting INSOMNIUM (SWALLOW THE SUN keyboardist Aleksi plays in this group, too), SCAR SYMMETRY, and KATATONIA. Drummer Kai Hahto (ex-ROTTEN SOUND, WINTERSUN) filled in for SWALLOW THE SUN member, Pasi Pasanen. During the group's stop in San Antonio, Texas, keyboardist Aleksi Munter and guitarist Juha Raivo spoke to Metal Centre about the groups music and first time in the States.
INTO ETERNITY – Interview with Guitarist Tim Roth
Canada's main musical export is prog rock. The highly talented Rush should be credited for making this style of rock so highly popular in their country. Many of today's bands hailing from the northern timberlands and vast prairies have incorporated the essence of progressive rock into a much more aggressive form of music, death metal. Of this type, one band stands above all their compatriots, and possibly the world, INTO ETERNITY. Finding the perfect ratio of melody, aggression, hooks, and technical proficiency, INTO ETERNITY has managed to find themselves on the road with some of the biggest names in metal: DESTRUCTION, MEGADETH, THE HAUNTED, DARK TRANQUILITY, and most recently, DREAM THEATER. During their recent stop at Austin, Texas on tour with REDEMPTION and DREAM THEATER, Metal Centre spoke with band founder and guitarist Tim Roth.
LADROS / ANTIQUUS – Wywiad z Abazusem
SYNASTRY – Interview with Jimmy
One day, while searching through countless bulletins on MySpace, I came across a band called Synastry. According to their MySpace page and bulletin they had 'new everything', so I decided to check them out. After listening to the three tracks that were available a few times, I left them a message and a request to interview them. Luckily, Jimmy was up for answering my questions…
DEVILDRIVER – Interview with guitarist Mike Spreitzer
It is always difficult to start over. Whether it be from a long-term relationship or the end of a career, beginnings are always difficult. Dez Fefara was faced with this uphill battle after leaving the vastly popular band, COAL CHAMBER. To make matters worse, he formed a new band, DEVILDRIVER, who plays a much heavier style. Since the group's inception, though, he has made his way through constant touring with the likes of such metal superstar bands as TRIVIUM, OPETH, DARK TRANQUILITY, and the blockbuster, OZZFEST in 2004. The combination of hardcore touring, consistent label support from RoadRunner Records, and creating no-bullshit metal, the group's momemtem is definitely on the upswing. I caught up with the group's guitarist Mike Spreitzer before their performance in San Antonio, Texas on tour with KATAKLYSM, UNEARTH, and DIMMU BORGIR.
KING DIAMOND – Interview with King Diamond
After a quarter-century of releasing some of the darkest music ever written, King Diamond has gone and released his darkest album ever! By taking inspiration from his own life and his past writings and adding Mercyful Fate member Mike Wead and early KING DIAMOND bassist Hal Patino, it is understandable when King referred to his forthcoming album Give me your Soul Please as his best effort. In a recent phone interview, King Diamond discussed why this album is so great, and the terrifying storyline. The following is a summary of my conversation with King Diamond.
REANIMATOR – Interview with Guitarist Julien Lefort
Canada's premier metal label, Galy Records continues to tap into its country's wealth of talent. Their recent signing, REANIMATOR consists of a group of young vigorous thrashers who are not a bit afraid of showing their love for old school thrash and classic metal. Their debut album on Galy “Thrashin' the Neighborhood” will kick you in the teeth and leave you wanting more. Considering the recent success of throwback bands like DRAGONFORCE, MUNICIPAL WASTE, and 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, REANIMATOR is a group sure to go a long ways!
PHLEBOTOMIZED – Interview with Dennis
Unfortunately I completely missed out on this band when they were active – it was only when someone recommended them to me on a forum that I finally checked them out… and I'm extremely glad I did! Phlebotomized were lightyears ahead of their time when they released their own brand of experimental and progressive Death Metal!
Phlebotomized may be long gone, but the music definitely still lives on. I was lucky enough to have Dennis answer a few questions about the band's past and tell me what he's up to now…
BESTIAL RAIDS – Wywiad z Sadistem
