Dwelling more solo and Alternative Rock projects got me into Astral Cloud Ashes. Spearheaded by highly proficient multi-instrumentist, Antony Walker, ACA established itself in the Rock industry with the 2016 release, Too close to the noise floor. The album attracted a lot of newer people hence making the ACA to get deep into the next album. Succeeding the well received 2016 effort is Dear Absentee Creator. Flaunting 11 well Iaid tracks, Antony worked hard on this and it seems as if it took him the entire two years to work on it. The reason being the perfectly executed tracks. Inspired by the rise of Bitcoin (there’s a song called Satoshi Nakamoto vs Unyielding Desire for BAU) and Japanese culture, Dear Absentee Creator is a good album which shows the skills and prowess hidden within Antony Walker. His guitar work is magnificent and the vocals which have a bit of gloomy emotive vibes, goes well with the tracks. Emotive hardcore is one among my favourite genres but Dear Absentee Creator is a little too soft for being considered as an emo band but Antony is trying to create a post emo vibe blending his alt rock and Grunge vibes. Songs are somewhat arranged as such.
Overall, I pretty much enjoyed the album and didn’t even how the album transited and ceased suddenly. I wasn’t bored at all. Yet there are some complications on the album where the post emo blend stays off a bit. The GR vibes somewhat hinders the beautiful post emo sound. However, it is only a personal issue and some might enjoy it. That being said, it is worth spending your money and time on this album. Does this beat his 2016 album? I can’t really say it does. Bt Dear Absentee Creator is something that shines on its own.
