The band was formed in 1994, but their first release took place in
2005. The reason is, that the group experienced many hard changes within the line up, changes within the instruments (some members swapped their instruments), etc. Nevertheless, finally they managed to record something of their own, and in 2005, their first EP, Den Yttersta Tiden was brought to life, moreover, soon after it release, they recorded another EP, titled Insnjard, released in 2007.
This poetic melodic and CHRISTIAN [sic!] (ADMONISH is the first Swedish Christian Black metal group) black metal material thrills from the very beginning, as the cry-riffs simply drag into the dungeon of sounds and do not want to let go. The compositions are varied, although quite predictable, what is more, a tiny phantom of motif-repetition starts to haunt the compositions. But it does not destroy the pleasure, from listening, constantly built by catchy riffs and melodic keyboard, powerful drums and magnetic hoarse growl. Everything embellished with romantic feminine vocal, which makes this music more digestible and melodic. Not to mention the good sound quality, perfect acoustic guitars in Istid and Legacy, and that haunted climate of the whole.
ADMONISH recorded good material, comprising of heavy and dynamic sounds, combined with angelic keyboards and vocals. Together, all those elements form one of the most interesting melodic black metal album – one which will not pass without any response.
