SHATTERSPHERE „„In The Face Of Anger””

The next material of SHATTERSPHERE has 5 pieces. The first of them is the title-song “In The Face Of Anger”… Entirely it surprised me with modernist approach to the music theme. At present this isn't the typical thrash metal (like previously) and it's more nu metal song… Obviously there is typical for thrash metal heaviness, the strong dynamic riffs, the melodious solos and the energetic knocks But the vocalist used a bit of imagination and he simply gently sings in chorus with backing singers besides of the strong sung scream. This sounds quite pretty well … “Faithless” is the next piece. The beginning is equally innovative obviously… the gentle piano, the guitar flanger and gentle melodious singing… All slowly gathers the power, the harder guitars, the knocks and melodious solos (but not too much), it oscillate in style of the nu metal ballad, like in e.g. LINKIN PARK.… Following to “To No Avail ” we meet the drums-guitar's prelude, this obviously introduces us in chosen by the band the climate… The melodious and sometimes energetic singing or dark declamation leads the heavy dynamic guitar's riffs, the melodious solos and the strong percussive knocks. Sometimes this drums even nicely “brakes” the rhythms… “The Usurper ” is the last track on the material… Woooow!!! It surprised me totally! Totally different the introduction. First appears the dark guitar passages with the bass and then suddenly together the entry of powerful drums appears the slow melodious very dark death metal's theme, like from the beginning of 90 years… the heavy monumental guitars, the squeaks, dark keys … Suddenly the quicker knock of guitars, the drums as well as the multicoloured vocal phrases (from the strong scream till the gentle singing) speed up the song… The heavy dark melodious-melancholy phrases create the very varied track. For me this is the best on the material! The whole of material is even very diverse, but in spite of all the scale tilts more to stylistics of nu metal then to thrash metal . I think, that the material “In The Face Of Anger” is the new better face of the band.
