THRESHOLD „Wounded Land”

THRESHOLD „Wounded Land” - okładka

THRESHOLD's “Wounded land” was originally released in 1993. The album now is released as special edition in remastered sound and with a bonus CD-ROM-track. The booklet contains liner notes, photographs and of course the lyrics.

“Wounded land” is somehow a concept album about the dying blue planet and the weird things going on there. It contains some of the best “early” THRESHOLD tracks, like the raw'n'heavy Consume to live, the somehow neoprogressive Sanity's end, the catchy Paradox, the sensitive 10-minute epic Surface to air and the dark Mother earth. The bonus track Intervention is not the same as the track contained on the special edition of “Psychedelicatessen” as we still have Damian Wilson on the vocals which sounds much better for me. The CD-ROM track contains demos, photos, some notes and a screensaver.

Progmetal-fans not knowing “Wounded land” should make themselfes familiar with this great album. This special edition is a good chance to do so.

note: 8/10
