What is Modern Metal? It is something contemporary – sure! In the case of the Swiss EVER SINCE it is a way to play Metal music in nowadays… A “Bring Out The Gimp” is the fourth album of alpine mountaineers …

Not without reason the team has Gothic image. Probably musicians emphasize the fascination of Gothic music by their image, as well as in the songs you can hear the spirit of Gothic Metal, but with no female vocals, which you will not listen there, but with the low singing of male (maybe by a few seconds) and the characteristic hoarse singing in style of PARADISE LOST, SENTENCED, or CEMETARY, as well as with the little parts of the violin and great motifs of the keys but before especially with the predatory dark and melancholic atmosphere.

However, I did not describe the music of EVER SINCE as Modern Metal if the musicians were not reached for something more than just a Gothic inspiration. And there are also the powerful influences of Melodic Death Metal in Scandinavian style, e.g. DARK TRANQUILLITY CHILDREN OF BODOM… that is the sharp, fast and heavy licks interspersed with the virtuoso solos and highlighted by the strong screams.

But I still think it's not enough to carry the name – Modern Metal, so the guys did not stop at that and they also took care for the motifs evocative of CRADLE OF FILTH. And therefore the piece of Symphonic Black Metal is included in the angry shouting, the monumental parties of the keys and the frantic parties of the guitar. There also you will hear something in style of Industrial components…

“Bring Out The Gimp” is a very dynamic and musically diverse album, albeit a very coherent.
