Once more time Spinefarm records has showed me that Finland is a bastion of power metal. This time TWILIGHT GUARDIANS have attacked me… and they won.
Power metal played by TWILIGHT GUARDIANS is not as heavy as for example SABATON or so fast as SONATA ARCTICA. Music generated by these guys is more various, mid tempo drumming and perfect melody these are features of TWILIGHT GUARDIANS. Strong metal riffing and as always melodic synth play is an obvious element of each power metal band so what makes TWILIGHT GUARDIANS different among others? First of all voice of Vesa Virtanen, his voice is so calm and more hard'n heavy than high pitched like in other power metal bands.

TWILIGHT GUARDIANS serves us a solid melodic metal dish with an extra spices like catchy choruses or good guitar solos. Maybe I would not eat this dish any more but I am satisfied, this album is quite relaxing and positive, perfect choice to listen after long and exausthing day in work. Whole mix of the album is quite soft and sometimes when Carl-Johan Gustafsson plays more heavier riff or a breakdown his guitar is more hard rock oriented than power metal and it doesnt have much toughness.

Whole album is bit too short, only 35 miutes its like bigger ep than regular longplay. I think that they dont have any more ideas for other songs so they recorded all what they have. To sum up its a good power metal album and if you're a fan of newer STRATOVARIUS, BRAINSTORM or JORN you will like it.
