A blasting demo for Sothis. Some demos when you listen to them, you say by the end of the last track, “Oh! Ok!”…but here, as if there were another 6 or 7 tracks up-coming….I mean in couple of words “Wanting more” coz it sounds so serious and blasting. You can say, this band want to be out there for real and no kidding. They did so well on this demo.

I'll break the rules a bit, and I would love to start with the keyboardist (since I'm one….probably I have said that many times…ha). I guess this keyboardist – and I'm proud to say “she” – has proved her existence in this demo. For me, She has been an equivalent to all those great black metal keyboardists, like Mustis (Dimmu Borgir – one of my idols players), Lars Nedland (Borknagar), Martin Powell (ex-Cradle of Filth), and many others. She has an unbelievable understanding to music (the black music) and awareness of her keys. She supports the song and the vocal very well…and seriously, I find her unique. Rarely (may be impossible) to find a feminine black metal talent concerning the keyboards.

Now, I think I'd start with the vocal. Drogoth, is pretty great vocal. The band say one of their main influences is “Dimmu Borgir”…I guess he managed to prove this in his singing's mentality. When I first knew about these main influence I was like “Another so-called band with DB influence”…but this is not just any band, with “any” vocal. Drogoth's growls -sometimes grunts- are well made, and I envy him for that.

As I said before – and I'll always will – the drummer in any black/death metal should hold the light (after the vocals of course), for that his speed can't be the same playing in any other genre. He is pretty fast and professional.

This demo is very good sign for this band, and I'm happy that I knew them personally and knew their work. Wait for “Sothis”…they will conquer your world!!
