Music: Heavy Metal

The GORGON already is the last Japanese band, what I review before holiday. I say sincerely that I linked many contacts with Japaneses and they flooded me their various materials.

The GORGON has the rule – they don't release a CD, they release a vinyls and a tapes only (like in old times), but then the music has characteristic old sound continually. The team existed from 1995 year. In the one's property they have many materials, in peculiarity there are the singles, the 7, the Ep., the splits with various bands e.g. MAGNESIUM, HEADLIGHT or WYTCHKRAFT. For own request I received many songs in the CD. The collection has 12 tracks coming from various publications e.g.: “Savage The Fox” (2001), “Heavy Metal King Of Kings” (2002), “The Soundhouse” (2003), “Devil's Daughter” (2003), “Tribute To HMSS” (2004) or “Heavy Metal Feler Volume II” (2004).

The music of band is characterize the influences from the beginning of NWOBHM. Particularly clearly is hear the inspirations of the old IRON MAIDEN (mainly from times of Paul Di'Anno) or else JUDAS PRIEST – the characteristic dirty archaic sound of guitars, the frequent melodious and sometimes the sharp solo parties and typical for IRON MAIDEN complex parties of bass (in style of Steve Harris). The dynamic work of drums completes to the whole. The vocal's color oscillates between the clean singing and the light hoarseness or the high squeak, and it is helped by emphasizing phrases of gentle backing singers. In the English singing I felt Japanese accent. In places also there are the influences of melodious punk rock. The tracks are very coherent, rhythmical, melodious and they keep in sedate average pace, but despite of all there we will find the small accelerations or the slowing down.

When I listened the GORGON I had the impression that the time stopped for them and even he backed off to the past and it made that I felt like in 80 years.
