In fact, I know almost nothing about this British project, except that it is created by one man – Igor Blaszko, who recorded 3 materials in one year under this name in one year – in 2019. Album “Anarchy 666”, single “Bear Witness (to the Void) “and this” Vile Masters of Mankind”…
The latest release from the very beginning reveals that it will not be a common Metal ride… A child’s crying and lamenting singing transforming into choral intonations together with a dark guitar passages… And suddenly a insane entrance… Furious screams and heavy boiled guitar riffs and merciless blasts… As if I heard MAYHEM… However, the same surrealistic singing like from the beginning appears… Melancholy and psychedelic guitar sounds and solos appear… Suddenly the music stops… Singing a’capella… Strange, mysterious atmosphere with surprising themes…
Many strong arrangements are very Death Metal, technical and polyrhythmic with Jazz inspirations… Brutal riffs, peculiar solos, twisted keyboards and extended bass parts combined with screaming growls bring to my mind PESTILENCE. Also this unearthly atmosphere, as if from a different dimension, rather non-cosmic… rather like from Lovekraft…
In addition, these crushing guitar riffs are accompanied by clean but at the same time gloomy vocals reminiscent of VOIVOD style. Although NATURA MORTA presents a more strong, dark and terrible atmosphere.
The music is very psychedelic and ominous, very changeable, twisted. Unconventional riffs and cacophonic chords often create bizarre melodies, full of mystery and a haunted mood, or rather psychotic atmosphere. Insane vocalizations (from growls and screams through singing to vocal and choral quirks) build a terrifying mood straight from the horror movie of an abandoned psychiatric hospital, in which are scary demons of patients.
The music of NATURA MORTA is very bizarre. At times it may seem grotesque but it is really serious.
