WITCHKING – Wywiad z Mateuszem Gajdzikiem
GODYVA – Wywiad z Lady Godiva
Czasy kiedy w moim odtwarzaczu królował Doom/Gothic Metal wspominam z sentymentem. Kapele typu THE GATHERING czy THEATRE OF TRAGEDY wywarły na mnie totalne wrażenie.
GODYVA – Interview with Lady Godiva
I remember with fondness the times when Doom/Gothic Metal reigned in my player. It's seem this was in first half of ninetieth years of XX century. The bands like THE GATHERING or THEATRE OF TRAGEDY made me total impression. At present is not much good bands which follow similar climates. However in Italy exists the band which follow similar way what musicians of THE GATHERING with Anneke followed on the beginning.
SOILENT GREEN – Interview with Guitarist Brian Patton
This year SOILENT GREEN released Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction. In many ways, the new album marked a new era for the group. It not only signified their twenty-year anniversary, thanks to Metal Blades backing and SOILENT GREENs nose-to-the-grind work ethic, it also marked a new-found success. 2008 has definitely been SOILENT GREENs year. Their video for Antioxidant has become part of the normal rotation on MTV2s Headbangers Ball.
Also, the group has embarked on a number of high profile tours including stints with HATE ETERNAL, DETHKLOK, DEATH ANGEL, GOD FORBID and CHIMAIRA. Upcoming tours reveal the group touring with SCUM OF THE EARTH and KINGDOM OF SORROW. They also join OZZY, METALLICA, KING DIAMOND, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, and HELL YEAH on Ozzfest this weekend. Vocalist, Ben Falgoust will pull double duty, screaming his brains out to both GOATWHORE and SOILENT GREEN.
Life hasnt always been so sweet for SOILENT GREEN, though. The N.O.L.A. (New Orleans Louisiana) supergroup consisting of members of EYEHATEGOD, GOATWHORE and CROWBAR have suffered their share of setbacks and tragedy. The group experienced two van crashes in two consecutive years, causing injuring and slowing the bands tour momentum. In 2003, former bassist Scott Williams was found dead, allegedly a victim of a murder/suicide. In 2005, SOILENT GREEN was dealt another crushing blow. While dealing with the damage wrought by Hurricane Katrina on family members and friends, ex-vocalist Glen Rambo was found dead in his home.
Tragedy has played a vital role in the career of SOILENT GREEN, but 2008 marks a whole new chapter filled with hope. Like a sweaty, swamp bird version of the Phoenix, SOILENT GREEN has risen from the ashes reborn. Band founder and master of sludge-filled, grinding riffsBrian Patton spoke with Metal Centre about the tough times and the bright future Inevitable Collapse in the Presence of Conviction brings.
ARTILLERY – Interview with Michael
BONDED BY BLOOD – Interview with Band
BONDED BY BLOOD are the newest thrash sensation out of L.A. The group formed in 2005 and have released one demo/EP Extinguish the Weak and a full-length, Feed the Beast. Their EP caught the ear of Earache Records (the label primarily responsible for bring back thrash), thus resulting in their signing with the said, established label. Before releasing Feed the Beast, BBB was featured on a the Thrashing Like a Maniac compilation, also released by Earache Records.
This group may be new to the scene and their members are quite young (some are still minors), but they bring a wealth of knowledge concerning thrash and do it quite well. One listen to Feed the Beast will not reveal a bunch of novice kids unfamiliar with their instruments. No, their music relates a veteran group of fierce intensity. Being young has its advantage, too. BBB has a spark and vigor that was part of the charm of the first wave of thrash.
BBB is currently touring with FUELED BY FIRE (dropped off the tour) and MERCYLESS DEATH as part of the package featuring bands on the Thrashing Like a Maniac compilation. Tonight, the group stopped off in Austin, Texas to play Headhunters, which is owned by famous front man Billy Milano (S.O.D., M.O.D.). All five members of the group met with Metal Centre on a patio/deck area to discuss the tour and their recent album.
EMBRIONAL – Wywiad z Rychem
GRAVE – Interview with Drummer Ronnie Bergerstĺhl
With the posting of this GRAVE interview, I have completed the unholy trinity of Swedish death metal. The only band missing from this circle is ENTOMBED, but it has been many years since ENTOMBED played a similar style to that of GRAVE, UNLEASHED and DISMEMBER. The other three groups had their own lull points in their career, but they never moved too far away from the pure death metal posture established in the early nineties.
GRAVEs first three releasesInto the Grave (1991), Youll Never See.. (1992), and Soulless (1994)were classic, churning chucks of death metal sickness. Each album had its own traits, yet each shared a common thread of sound. After Soulless, original vocalist Jörgen Sandström (he also took over bass duties after Into the Grave) left the group to play bass in ENTOMBED, leaving guitarist Ola Lindgren to man the mic, and marking an obvious shift in momentum.
Ola and GRAVE faltered at first with the release of the sub-par Hating Life, but caught their second wind with Back From the Grave. All subsequent albums showed Olas vocals mature as the band fell further back to their original style. GRAVEs most recent album, Dominion VIII is possibly the closest the band has come to emulating their early sound. It is definitely the fastest of the groups career, and Lindgrens vocal performance is the strongest yet. After releasing seven studio albums on Century Media, GRAVE released their first recording via Regain Records. Drummer Ronnie Bergerstĺhl spoke with Metal Centre about this newest release.
DEMOGORGON – Wywiad z Asteck'iem
Nieznaną pozostawała kwestia wydawcy ich debiutanckiego albumu “Christ Is A Lie”. Miało to wydać Empire, jednakże… zresztą sami poczytajcie. Na pytania odpowiada Asteck.
