VEDONIST – Interview with Vommbath

What can I say, VEDONIST is one of the best Polish crews who finally has a chance to appear on the world stage. Determined, full of self-confidence and, above all, aware of his skills slowly gain more and more recognition. Signing a contract with American label should help them. Just read the interview, and feel free to become a fan of these guys. They are worth of it.

JACK DANIELS OVERDRIVE – Wywiad z Michałem Stemplem Stemplowskim

BURNING SUNSET – Interview with Daniel

With a more open-minded musical identity, Portugal’s Burning Sunset melds classical instruments and melodic death metal to produce a good ole’ heavy metal hybrid in the grand tradition of bands playing nontraditional metal with nontraditional instruments. Releasing their first EP early this year, Burning Sunset’s “Bruma” contains songs that bring epic choruses, vicious growls, folksy influences, and neck breaking thrash all together in a hyper energized aural cocktail. Answering our questions about everything and anything Portuguese, vocalist/violinist Daniel talks about his band, their gigs, and real life burning sunsets.

SAKREFIX – Interview with Guitarist Hadrian and Vocalist Mortryne

SAKREFIX’s dark, esoteric brand of extreme metal seems fitting for the location they call home. Austin, Texas boasts one of the largest live music scenes in the world. Because it is such a Mecca for musicians, one could find just about any given genre or sub-genre of music on any given night. Many of these bands have an eclectic, artistic vision. SAKREFIX’s approach is quite diverse and profound. Whether it is their stage show, lyrical themes or the music they create; there is something that separates this band from the hordes of death and black metal imitators.

First of all, SAKREFIX plays a brand of extreme metal that garners many descriptions yet defies any one category. One could describe their music as melodic death metal, melodic black metal, black metal and thrash. In the tradition of black metal’s affinity for the grotesque and macabre, SAKREFIX storms the stage drenched in blood. This blood has a symbolic significance (which the group explains later on in the interview). SAKREFIX’s performances are always professional; the group works well as a unit, each musician tightly following his band mates through each sharp twist and turn. All of these aspects of the band have not been lost on the huge, central Texas metal populace. They have become one of the leaders of this scene.

On August 29th, SAKREFIX played a CD release show at one of Austin’s premier metal clubs, Red 7. This concert celebrated the release of their latest opus “In Shadow’s Embrace.” Before taking the stage for this momentous occasion, guitarist and band founder Hadrian and vocalist Mortryne spoke to Metal Centre about this release and the ideals that comprise SAKREFIX.

HELLSAW – Wywiad z Ariesem

Odpowiedzi udzielił mi współzałożyciel i wokalista zespołu – Aries.

ICED EARTH – Interview with Guitarist and Band Founder John Schaffer

If there is one metal band most deserving of accepting IRON MAIDEN’s crown it is ICED EARTH. ICED EARTH exudes the same type of larger-than-life persona as MAIDEN. Epic song structures, powerful choruses, soaring vocal highs, memorable guitar riffs and intriguing story lines reveal a special breed of band, and their fans recognize this. ICED EARTH has headlined metal’s greatest summer festival, Wacken, has earned gold records in Greece for selling over 500,000 copies of their “Alive in Athens” album, and tore through the Billboard charts with their last couple of albums.

ICED EARTH’s most recent development comes by way of their “Framing Armageddon: Something Wicked Part 2” album. This album is the second part of the “Something Wicked” saga, which first began as a three-part song on the “Something Wicked This Way Comes” album in 1998. “The Crucible of Man,” the story's first installment, featured former JUDAS PRIEST vocalist Tim “The Ripper” Owens, and showed the group utilize a more organic array of instruments and cinematic sound bites. The second portion revisits some of the same organic instrumentation such as cellos and bongos, but moves with a greater flow due to the group focusing more on traditional metal songs.

“Framing Armageddon” also signifies the return of long-time ICED EARTH vocalist Matthew Barlow. Barlow shows a spirit and connectivity to past ICED EARTH efforts (especially the “Something Wicked This Way Comes” recording) that wasn’t present with Owens, even though those albums were great in their own way. Band founder and lead guitarist, John Schaffer chatted via phone with Metal Centre on Barlow’s triumphant return, as well as filling us in on the new album.

FORGOTTEN SOULS – Wywiad z Chrisem i sVirusem
