The Catalans from Barcelona, ​​although they have been playing together for one year, they have already experienced a some musical past in various Spanish Metal bands, such as OBSIDIAN KINGDOM, BLAZEMTH, ERED, ANGOIXA and ERIAL. And “Corpses And Ashes” is their debut, which it was guided by the idea of ​​musical-lyrical-graphic nihilism and fatalism and the use of European pagan culture as a metaphor to create raw and simple Black Metal. I would say that Black Metal following the way marked by the so-called the Second Black Metal Wave…

The music is canonical, i.e. fast, sharp and crushing, flowing straight from the heart, without any deeper musical modifications… Simple and furious riffs with a Punk Rock’s structure, but of course, with the maximum speed and with sonically reinforcement. They are simply smashing and of course, in its own way, majestic ( !). It causes the reminder of the beginning of the 90s, when DARK THRONE, MARDUK or the Polish ARKONA were raigned among others on the Black Metal stage.

The fast and biting riffs and percussion’s blasts dominate, but the music is not devoid of monumental pathos-filled slows and episodic passages of clean guitars reminiscent of old BATHORY.

Vocally it is also classic… Black Metal fumes, demonic screeching and solemn melorecited phrases against the background of Black Metal screams, what is in the style of early DIMMU BORGIR.

The musicians of FOGOS don’t need corpse-paint to play like gods of the Second Wave of Black Metal.
