ARMORY - “The Dawn Of Enlightenment”
Self Released 2007

Music: Power Metal
Website: http://www.faithinsteel.com
Country: U.S.A.
Cool songs: The Tempest, Faith in Steel, Forged in Dragon Flames, Mystic Star, The Dawn of Enlightenment

This American power metal gem was formed in 2001, by a bunch of people with the same interest in the heavy metal music, strongly influenced by the European power metal along with the 80’s traditional metal. Their aim was to combine those two classical styles and perform something extraordinary. Thanks to this operation, American scene has gained a fantastic power metal player, one of a few, which is probably the best.

And prepare for battle! Swords in hands and slain the enemies! And everything accompanied by the furiously fast sound of ARMORY. It is one of the most interesting and fascinating power metal release of the past year. Today, with millions of such bands, it is extremely hard to work out own style and perform something interesting, especially of this kind. What is more, the power metal scene, undoubtedly dominated by the Europeans, has gained a powerful American opponent, which will contribute to the power legend. This album contains everything: from extremely mood-creating intros, supersonic speed metal, to very pathetic songs and hundreds of varied ideas. Plus, the intros, mentioned above, are quite longish, but this works in plus, because they act as preludes to the songs and enrich them dramatically (sic!). the guitars simply push the sound into the ears. Extremely developed melodic section leaves no doubts - that this is a mature concept and content. Powerful drums and shivery solos create a real epic event. Not to mention the old school keyboards parts, which are irresistible. No annoying repetitions, but only constant changes in pace and motifs plus well developed rhythmic section, contribute to one final conclusion: this is the essence of melodic power metal!

‘The Dawn of Enlightenment’ is a ripe fruit, an album which shows that the musicians have eaten not from one plate only. The music, although it is power metal, is very varied and makes the listener want to reach the highest peak. Plus that fantastic epic-like mood. An American power ride!
