OMEGA DIATRIBE is a Hungarian entity that has been walking on the Earth for over 12 years, proclaiming its message very clearly towards humanity. The content they convey contains a lot of futuristic, science-fiction themes.
“Metanoia” is their third full album combining the features of three genres of extreme Metal music. Namely – Djent Metal – with its low-tuned guitars producing intricate and crushing riffs full of rhythmic and heavy twists. Groove Metal – with its lively death / thrash aggression and dynamic melodies. And also Metalcore – with its broad emotionality. Starting from brutal hysteria, through rebellious anger, and ending with dark melancholy, which is reflected many times in the vocal diversity (screams, growls, clear singing, melorecitations, whispers – often presented simultaneously) and instrumental (fast and energetic blows, melancholic slowdowns, variable phrases – both distorted and clean guitars). At times, there are also minimalistic samples or atmospheric Folk melodies straight from the Middle East or musical motifs evoking some dark and dramatic film scenes.
Of course, with such a varied rhythms and melodics, the rhythm section is also very densely arranged, which is not without significance in this type of music. Generally speaking, the rhythm is very motor and stimulating. You can’t listen to the music without any physical activity.
The whole thing is very solidly concentrated but in an intelligent way. It is not an uncontrolled or spontaneous wall of sound. Each resounding sound of the instrument and each shouted or sung phrase have a strictly defined place and intensity.
“Metanoia” is a huge crushing force and destructive storm, which in places can gently wave and emotionally calm down, then strike again after a while.
OMEGA DIATRIBE definitely presents a contemporary approach to extreme Metal music, so it can be said that it is the music of nowadays for the present young generation. The generations full of anger, rebellion, unbridled aggression and even psychopathic aspiration to satisfy their needs with simultaneous immaturity and emotional instability, as well as showing physical social isolation combined with escaping into the virtual world, in which everyone creates their own avatar…
