SUN OF THE DYING is another Spanish band that I recently had to reviewing, and specifically they second album…

The climate as they create on this album is really overwhelming. Of course, this has nothing to do with the current situation of their country during the global plague, but it fits perfectly to the terrible period… If humanity does not control the pandemic, it may happen that the Earth will be silent (like in the album’s title), because cars, machines, factories will tacit and will disappear all human activity and a handful of people will remain…

Doom Death Metal is one of my favorite genres of metal music since I heard once MY DYING BRIDE, ANATHEMA, PARADISE LOST and probably I will always compare every band of this genre to these precursors… And I can clearly say that the album “The Earth Is Silent” works really great. I know that this is not objective, but I think so… And in this case, they are closest to MY DYING BRIDE.

These crushing, over 100 tons heavy, overwhelming compositions resound funeraly spreading a dark melancholic atmosphere full of guitar and keyboard exciting melodies, with lots of monstrous growlings but also with clean depressive singings…

Despair, doubt, endless nostalgia are mixed with anger and rebellion… Doom Death Metal themes in slow funeral pace are intertwined with the delicate sounds of the violin, piano, calm keyboard sounds and clean guitar passages… Although there are moments with aggressive turbulence and rhythmic accelerations. However, these are just episodes.

The material is perfect for lovers of this genre. This is another album that I can’t get enough of this climate… these melodies…
