WE ARE THE CATALYST releases new track

Calling something “Heavy” and “Metal” is different. Like some may refer Five Finger Death Punch as a Metal band but they are Hard Rock band with some “Heavy” elements. But, in some point the songs that are less Heavy are considered to be Meal. For instance, any Shoegaze or Post Black album. New generation bands are infected with the idea of Radio Rock which is neither “Heavy” nor “Metal”. Well, “Heavy” at some instants. However some bands achieve greater success through their radio rock while keeping their song on the brim of Alternative Metal and Radio Rock. This created a huge backlash and was followed by the labelling “Pop Metal”.

As a music observer, I honestly don’t judge music by its genre. Carving the depths of newer songs, I came across the latest offering of the Swedish band, We Are The Catalyst. Just after the new Within Temptation, this Swedish quartet kept the vibes alive by releasing a new track called Predators. Their sound though being more melodic from their previous effort, the song itself is a great way to kickstart 2018. Led by the mesmerizing voice of Cat Fey, the song has a catchy et repetitive riff which keeps her voice on the spotlight. The poppy elements doesn’t spoil the creativity in their. Wisely including the drum parts along with the instrumentation, the song does capture listener’s attention.

Though the band is based out of Gothenburg, you won’t get to hear the explosive sound of Gothenburg Death Metal but a memorable sound of well interpreted “Pop Metal”, capable of drawing in the masses to listen on repeat.
