PANICO AL MIEDO is Spanish band existing for about 5 years. However, when they released their first album “Formador”, they approached for the work very seriously, for example by choosing a cover-art creator, Edward J. Repka – the well-known American graphic artist whose works are decorating the cover-arts of MEGADETH, DEATH, ATHEIST, MASSACRE, VENOM, DARK ANGEL, POSSESSED and dozens of other large releases. In addition, to further increase the attractiveness of their material, the musicians invited two legendary DEATH guitarists to the studio to record solos – James Murphy in the song “Formador” and Bobby Koelble in the song “Cebos Vivos” and the bonus version “Formador”. The another attraction of the program are Spanish-language lyrics, which gave for the whole of the original atmosphere. I must admit that the Spanish language always sounded very darkly for me (I’m Pole).
Musically, PANICO AL MIEDO presents a very dynamic concentration of Thrash Death Metal in a pretty technical form with the frequent solo inclusions. The songs like a storm of aggressive sounds disturb sonic space presenting the heavy riffs, specific melodies, fast paces, energetic solos and aggressively growling and screaming vocals.
Many factors have influenced for my association of the music with the old SEPULTURA, the Colombian MASACRE (a.k.a. MASSACRE), ATHEIST and of course DEATH, of course. And by the way, I’ll come back to guest musicians, specifically the two versions of the song “Formador”, in which you can clearly hear the differences in the way arrangered of solos by DEATH musicians. I can not ascertain which version is better. The both arrangements are great.
The whole is very classic in terms of Thrash Death Metal, which pleases, because in the flood of the modern approach to compose Metal it comes out in plus and by the way does not sound archaic.
