STABB “The Four Skateboarders of the Apocalypse”

Arsenic Solaris, 2014

Music: Grindcore / Noise
Website: https://stabb.bandcamp.com/
Duration: 22 minutes (28 tracks)
Country: France

STAB is a musical oddity. The band was born in 2014 in France. “The Skateboarders Four of the Apocalypse” is their first album, which contains 12 titles, but 28 tracks. The shortest track lasts 7 seconds and the longest track lasts more than 7 minutes and the song is unique amongst the minute songs.

The music of STABB is like a hit of hurricane, totally demolishing everything on its way. The massacring Grindcore themes are interwoven with electro-mechanical sounds in style Noise… So, the murderously heavy guitar riffs, ultra-fast blasts and hysterical growls or screams are the primary weapon of STABB. The specific length of the tracks combined with the style of music immediately makes the associations with NAPALM DEATH from time of “Scum” and “From Enslavement to Obliteration”. But STABB weave many other topics for their music, such as noise-industrial sounds and various interludes in style of monologues and recitations . It all makes the whole is even more manic, almost psychotic.

The material is ending by the longest track, kept in the dark trance-noise style. And here also I had associations – the album “Inde $ troy” of SAW THROAT.

However, the whole is not out of control as it might seem. This chaos is controlled. I’m sure that the aficionados of Grindcore will not be disappointed. If you like to be battered by the crushing sounds and shredded by the super fast compositions of STABB then this is just for you.
